FALLEN STAR: Author, Activist, Murderer

I learned that someone I once called a friend had been charged with the murder of her husband. Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe what I felt. The news was surreal, almost impossible to comprehend. It wasn’t until Star reached out to me from prison that the reality truly settled in—that someone I knew had taken another person’s life. The person I heard about in the news… the person described as a killer… felt so completely different from the person I knew. Star had some struggles, but a killer?!? The ‘Community Kids Watch’ program helps children in the community feel safe and protected knowing their families, friends, and community are attentively watching over them. Each person in their neighborhood, apartment complex, street, or community vows to take a stand to help stop child abuse by “watching, listening and reporting” any suspected abuse towards a child.
